How to take an exam

I recently gave an exam to a group of microbiology students. This
student has done an exemplary job of taking the test. Not because she
scored very well on it (she did), but because of the way she took the
exam.
- Notice that she has marked up almost every question with notes
to herself. These notes don't necessarily mean anything to you or
me, but to her, they helped eliminate wrong answers and choose
right ones.
- Once she picked her answer, she didn't just mark her answer
sheet, she circled the correct answer.
- She has also realized that multiple choice questions are just
a series of True-False statements, and can be treated as such (see
questions 2 and 9).
- She has underlined important words (see question 8).
These are techniques that can help you score higher on exams. Try
them and see!
