PSCI131 Introduction to Physical
Science
4 Credit Hours
Covers topics from the five major areas of physical
science-astronomy, physics, chemistry, geology, and meteorology-in
order to help non-science majors understand and appreciate the
interaction between energy and matter in nature. Laboratory
experiences are designed to improve scientific intuition and develop
confidence in dealing with science. Three hours of lecture and two
hours of laboratory per week.

PSCI133 Atomic Science
2 Credit Hours
A non-mathematical introduction to the basic concepts of atomic energy. This course is designed to help the non-scientific student enjoy and appreciate current trends in science, nuclear reactions, and atomic energy in particular. The approach taken is historical and philosophical. Effort is made to place concepts in their relation to prevalent world thinking. Two hours of lecture per week.
